GAIA IS A CLOSE SYSTEM. AT LEAST, IT IS NOW.
NO MATTER HOW "GREEN" WE PLEAD AS THE REASON...THE FASTER THE MODERNITY ACCELERATES, THE HIGHER ENTROPY STATE GAIA TENDS TO BE.
AND, IT IS IRREVERSIBLE.
No doubt about it, those "i" things have brought us with a lot of possibilities.
Not saying the business potential, but the DREAMS only (perhaps) human beings can (or dare to) dream---
Especially, when we still remember the innocence to challenge everything (although being socialized, institutionalized, materialized).
Especially, when we still wish nothing serious will occur (although knowing modernity has no capability or gut to stop its own expansion).
Those "i" things and the world of possibilities embedded within just happened on time to provide the way out for our complicated feelings, compounding with joy and fear, where we find no place to vent.
How happy when we discover so many possibilities, and how sorrowful when we honestly face each possibility !!!
